Introduction of Long Term Care Services

The Government’s policy objective is to promote “ageing in place as the core, institutional care as back-up”. A wide spectrum of subsidised community care services (CCS) and residential care services (RCS), collectively termed long-term care services, are provided by the Social Welfare Department to elderly citizens with proven long term care needs as assessed by the Department under the Standardised Care Need Assessment Mechanism for Elderly Services. For further details of CCS and RCS, you may click here for more information.
